Roots of Cultivate

Humility

Humility is the first root of Cultivate. The term "humility" comes from the Latin word humilitas, a noun related to the adjective humilis, which may be translated as "grounded" or "from the earth", since it derives from humus (earth). Cultivate strongly believes that maintaining a sense of humility and perspective of where you came from allows you to see where you can continue to improve, not just professionally, but in all aspects of your life.

Empathy

An integral part of being able to make a difference in your community is having empathy for the people you wish to serve. “Empathy” refers to having a sense of understanding and sensitivity to the people around you. It means that even if you have not experienced what they have experienced, you get them, you feel for them, and you have compassion for them. At its roots, Cultivate is a healthcare company, and in healthcare, it’s essential to have empathy for the clients you work with to help understand their perspective, build trust with them and assist them in reaching their health goals.

Growth

Lastly, to be able to make the changes you would like, you need to be comfortable to grow. “Growth” can be a cliché word – but in its most bare sense, it refers to something that has not reached its final form, something that still has room for changing and developing, even if that development is gradual. To this end, “growth” is a perfect root for Cultivate, signifying that with humility to ground you, empathy and perspective for the people who you wish to serve, and desire to continue to grow and develop, you can cultivate great things.
